YouthTube Academy – Does your child want to be a YouTube star?!!

YouthTube Academy

This is a voluntary promotional post for YouthTube Academy.

I am so excited I could burst!! Ethan is going to be a YouthTube Academy Ambassador!! As some of my readers are aware, Ethan has his own YouTube channel. Although the channel is his, I am the person behind the account, Ethan just enjoys making videos.

We have loads of fun making videos and I have found that YouTube, along with his theatre school, has given him lots more confidence.

Obviously safety is the first thing on my mind when using YouTube. At the moment I manage his account, however, this will not be the case forever.

When I heard about YouthTube Academy I thought what a fantastic idea! YouTube is becoming very popular for children and young adults, more and more accounts are being made and some of these children may not know how to protect themselves online.

YouthTube Academy offers an opportunity for children and young adults to learn about life skills, well-being and safety through the form of YouTube.  YouthTube Academy teach skills like:

Emotional intelligence
Emotional intelligence and how they can be better communicators because we want kids to have the skills they need to overcome any challenges that they may face in life

Leadership and Business Skills
Leadership skills that help kids to be great role models and inspire other young people. Business skills because we want kids to have a career that the love and a life they want to live!

Internet Safety
We teach young people how to stay safe online. We also show kids that how they act online should be the same as how they treat people in person and that cyber-bullying is never ok.

Giving Back
The importance of giving back to those less fortunate with each YouTuber sponsoring a charity that is close to their heart.

YouthTube Academy workshops are taking place all over the country. Cardiff, Merthyr, Bristol, Manchester, London, Plymouth, YouthTube Academy are even having a ‘Become a YouthTuber’ Summer camp in Zurich!!!

“At the Youthtube Academy, we believe Great communication and presentation skills are essential for success but are rarely taught in schools or colleges. Our 1 Day become a Youthtuber workshop helps develop these essential skills in Children while at the same time building self-confidence and belief.
During the day students will discover how to communicate effectively and why body language and vocal tone are so important. We’ll then use those newly learnt skills to film each student presenting. They will be part of a community of young Youtubers.”

The next YouthTube Academy event in Cardiff is a fundraiser!!

With Government cutbacks to youth provisions and a rise in both criminal and mental health issues within children and young people, we know more needs to be done to increase children’s well-being, education and development. YouthTube Academy are crowdfunding £100,000 funding to make the service bigger and better than ever.

The fundraising event will be on 28th May in Cardiff (please see pic below). It will be a chance for parents to have a chat about YouthTube Academy and find out when and where the next workshops will take place.
