Meet the Welsh Bloggers 2019 –

Man with his wife and baby

This year I am interviewing Welsh bloggers – Today I talk to

With so many high profile bloggers out there, we may forget some of the amazing Welsh bloggers who are closer to home. is about a first time father’s honest account of men’s mental health (postnatal depression) and the highs and lows of being a parent.

  • Please tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a 27 year old married father to one daughter called Isabelle. She’s currently 21 months old and is an absolute nightmare. Well, she’s not a nightmare. She’s a delight. But if you’ve ever heard the song Sweet But Psycho then that basically sums her up. I’m a postman by day and blogger by early hours and whenever I can steal away the time. In regards to hobbies, what are they? Are they things you used to do before having kids?

  • What is your blog about?

My blog is your typical dad blog. I cover mental health quite regularly and then I basically do whatever takes my fancy. Sometimes I’m really serious, and then I strip naked and sit in the sink. You never really quite know what to expect.

  • What/who inspired you to start a blog?

I had postnatal depression when Isabelle was born. I hadn’t really seen many men talk about this and it wasn’t something I was really that aware of. So I thought I would write about it myself. I quickly realised that you don’t just write one post, so I kept going. The rest as they say is history. Or just a boring story. Either one.

  • What challenges have you faced whilst blogging?

Oh I’ve had the odd bit of backlash. When you’re in the news saying “I felt like I hated my daughter” then people are going to have a few things to say. But you get used to it. You accept that they don’t know you and they don’t really care and you move on. Other than that I’ve just had all the usual challenges of trying to find the right balance between making a blog work and not letting it take over everything you do.

  • What are your 2019 blogging goals?

I’m not much of a goal setter in all honesty. I understand that I can’t control who followers me so I never set follower goals. I guess I just want to get to a position where the blog can become more of a earner than it currently is and hopefully this time next year I’ll be able to drop another day in work and earn the money from the blog. Getting to spend more time with the family is ultimately the goal.
